Kestrel's cabin post as well as the house wood was in distress.

Like other wood on the boat, the stem had fallen into disrepair.
The stem didn't get much better the deeper we dug.
Kestrel's mast step was also determined to be compromised.
Add the house to the growing list of rot.
Fast forward and here is Kestrel's bow with new stem work, new plywood, and sheathed in Dynel.
