Restoring and reviving a classic Maine hull was a challenge that one Strouts employee couldn't pass up. The results after a major refit, re-power, and restoration are nothing short of amazing.
Gemma's owner came to Strouts Point in the winter of 2014/15 requesting something that the boat never had before: a radar.
Due to the open nature of the boat, the only way to successfully add a radome to the vessel was to create a radar mast that would not only be strong enough to support the radar at the 30+ knots that the boat is capable of, but also fit the boat aesthetically.
Strouts Point fabricated the laminated mahogany radar mast, topped with a stainless steel sleeve to support the radar, new spotlight, anchor light and VHF antenna.
Gemma returned to Strouts Point in the winter of 2016 for routine maintenance. It was decided that her hull paint had gotten a little tired, and the decision was made to do some mostly cosmetic hull repairs and apply a fresh coat of AwlGrip™ to her topsides.
When Thumper's owner bought the boat he loved everything about it- except the color. Strouts Point rectified that problem for him with stunning results.
Macs Trax came to Strouts Point for a major restoration and overhaul from systems to paint. The results were breathtaking, and not just due to the cold temperatures during sea trials.
Kestrel was clearly in a state of disrepair when she arrived at Strouts Point. With careful planning with her owner, we worked through an extensive project list resulting in a beautifully restored Concordia.
Secret Story, a venerable Hinckley B40, came to Strouts Point for several improvements including cockpit repainting, updating the electrical system, and installing and integrating new electronics.
